Regional Development Australia Wide Bay Burnett has welcomed new Australian Government funding for the Youth Employment Pathways Program, a targeted initiative designed to help young people aged 15–24 access training, apprenticeships and sustainable career opportunities across the Wide Bay Burnett region.

Regional Development Australia Wide Bay Burnett (RDAWBB) has welcomed Australian Government funding for the new Youth Employment Pathways Program (YEPP), an initiative designed to support young people across the Wide Bay Burnett into meaningful employment, training and long-term career opportunities.
Funded through the Workforce Australia Local Jobs, Local People initiative, YEPP will help young people aged 15–24 connect with apprenticeships, traineeships and emerging industries including construction, manufacturing and renewable energy in the Wide Bay Burnett. The program responds directly to local workforce challenges and aims to create stronger employment outcomes through tailored, community-led support.
Leading the local delivery team are Program Coordinator Lisa Love and Pastoral Care and Case Management Officer Tracey Oostenbrink, who bring extensive experience in youth engagement, career development and pathway planning. Together, they will work alongside young people, employers and communities to create sustainable pathways into the jobs of the future.
As RDAWBB Director of Regional Development and YEPP Contract Manager Sotera Trevaskis explains,
"This program is grounded in the realities of our region. It is about working alongside local young people, local employers and local communities to create real pathways into sustainable work in the industries that matter most to the Wide Bay Burnett."
