Regional Drought Resilience Planning Reference Groups
Have your say on drought resilience.
Regional Development Australia Wide Bay Burnett (RDAWBB), through its Regional Drought Resilience Planning (RDRP) Program is seeking local people to join new RDRP Reference Groups (RDRPRG).
Two groups, one for the Burnett and one for the Mary, we are looking for people with local knowledge, experience and connections, particularly across primary production, small and medium business, First Nations communities, and community and mental health services.
What is the Reference Group?
RDRPRGs will provide local insight and practical advice to help guide delivery of the Regional Drought Resilience Plan.
Members will help identify what is happening on the ground, where there are gaps or barriers, and where existing networks, projects and local knowledge can help move things forward.
Members will also connect people and organisations, promote relevant work already underway, and help build local capacity to deliver the plan.
To guide the delivery of actions within the RDRP Program, RDRPRG members will:
-
Support the development of capacity and capability in the region to implement the plan.
-
Provide expertise and experience into implementation activities, governance, capacity building and empowering local ownership of the plan.
-
Identify gaps, obstacles and opportunities that can be leveraged across the region.
-
Utilise existing networks and seek opportunities to promote and advocate for delivery of actions, including the identification of barriers and opportunities for success.
-
Connect other organisations and stakeholders within existing networks to the actions and opportunities.
-
Promote the work and outcomes of government and non-government initiatives and projects that support delivery of the plan.
-
Support reporting requirements to fulfil reporting obligations to the Future Drought Fund and DPI RDRP team.
RDRPRG members are there to represent the interests of their region and its communities, rather than a particular business, organisation or council.
Who should apply?
-
We are looking for people who:
-
Know their region and the communities within it
-
Bring relevant experience, knowledge or connections
-
Are willing to contribute to the implementation of the plan
-
Can connect the Reference Group with people and organisations across the region
RDRPRGs will have a regional focus. They will not be responsible for broader program governance or oversight.
