Regional Drought Resilience Planning
The Regional Drought Resilience Planning (RDRP) program is jointly funded by the Australian Government’s Future Drought Fund and the Queensland Government. It brings together industry, government and research through the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry, the Queensland Department of Agriculture and Fisheries, and the Rural Economies Centre of Excellence - an alliance of leading Queensland universities - working to strengthen regional resilience and support communities to adapt, survive and thrive into the future.

Queensland Rural and Industry Development Authority
The Regional Drought Resilience Planning Scheme (the Scheme) aims to support entities in developing a draft regional drought resilience plan (draft Plan) and implementing the activities identified in a regional drought resilience plan (Plan) to increase preparedness for future drought disruptions. By prioritising planning, the negative impacts of drought on communities and industries located in regional Queensland can be reduced, leading to faster and more successful recoveries from disaster.

Future Drought Fund
Drought is an enduring feature of the Australian landscape. Managing drought will become more challenging as our climate continues to change.

The Future Drought Fund (FDF) aims to boost drought and climate resilience.

The FDF helps farmers and producers to plan, access climate tools, and share resilient farming practices, as well as supporting communities to plan, and fosters rural and regional leaders and networks.

Drought and Disaster Programs
The Foundation for Rural & Regional Renewal (FRRR) offers a range of grant programs, from broad community support to targeted funding addressing specific local needs. It supports remote, rural and regional communities across Australia to be more vibrant, resilient and sustainable, working alongside them to deliver locally led solutions and unlock opportunity.

FRRR helps bridge systemic gaps by connecting resources, building local skills and knowledge, and strengthening community participation, reshaping how regional Australia is supported and valued.
