The Queensland Government has reappointed Regional Development Australia Wide Bay Burnett (RDAWBB) to lead Jobs Bundaberg and Jobs Fraser Coast through to 2027.

In June 2025, the Queensland Government announced a two-year extension of funding for the Regional Jobs Committees (RJCs). The continuation of the program was subject to a competitive tender process, inviting both existing and new organisations to apply for delivery of the 2025–27 program.
The Queensland Government has now confirmed a revitalised RJC program for 2025–27, delivering what the Crisafulli Government has described as a fresh start for regional workforce planning and local job creation. As part of this renewed direction, RDAWBB has again been appointed to lead both Jobs Fraser Coast and Jobs Bundaberg for the next two years.
RJCs have long played an important role in connecting businesses, educators, jobseekers, industry and government to address workforce needs across Queensland. The Crisafulli Government has reaffirmed this role, positioning RJCs as key drivers of regional economic strength.
Driven by locals, for locals, RJCs are strategically positioned to identify unique skilling and workforce challenges in each region. Their place-based approach ensures they are best placed to work closely with the Queensland Government to deliver tailored solutions that directly benefit local businesses, employers and communities.
RDAWBB Director Sotera Trevaskis welcomed the continuation of the program and the opportunity to strengthen existing work across the Wide Bay.
“We’re proud to continue our leadership in regional workforce development through the Queensland Government’s ongoing investment in the Regional Jobs Committee program. RDAWBB is honoured to be entrusted with the continuation of Jobs Bundaberg and Jobs Fraser Coast for a further two years, and we look forward to working closely with local employers, schools, training, educators and community partners to meet skilling needs of critical industry sectors and strengthen employment pathways across the Fraser Coast.” Sotera Trevaskis, Director Regional Development Australia Wide Bay Burnett.
Minister for Finance, Trade, Employment and Training Ros Bates said the refreshed RJC model would help Queensland secure the skilled workforce needed to support major economic, infrastructure and community projects over the coming decade.
“The Regional Jobs Committee program will draw on local expertise, to address local needs, and create the jobs which will underpin a better lifestyle for Queenslanders through a stronger economy".
RDAWBB is also pleased to share that Michelle Hay has been reappointed as Chair of Jobs Fraser Coast, and Bree Watson has been appointed as Chair of Jobs Bundaberg. We extend our sincere thanks to outgoing Chair Jason Searle for his leadership of the Jobs Bundaberg Committee over the past 17 months.
For the next two years, RDAWBB, alongside RJCs across the state, will continue to play a vital role in connecting regional communities to workforce and skilling opportunities through region-specific, locally informed solutions. With gratitude, appreciation and a shared sense of purpose, we thank the Queensland Government and the continued engagement of Ros Bates MP in supporting this regionally led, community-driven work.
