RDA Wide Bay Burnett Appoints Board Secretary and Welcomes New Board Member
Regional Development Australia Wide Bay Burnett (RDAWBB) continues to deliver on its Strategic Plan 2026–2030 priorities to build regional intelligence, connect and convene, and create strong relationships. The appointment of Fraser Coast Regional Council Mayor George Seymour to the Board and Michelle Hay’s appointment as Board Secretary strengthen the regional knowledge, leadership and connections that underpin this work, helping guide regional advocacy, investment and sustainable growth across Wide Bay Burnett.

RRDAWBB Chair, Cr Bill Trevor, welcomed Mayor Seymour to the Board and congratulated Michelle on her appointment as Secretary, recognising the value both bring to the organisation and the wider region.
“We are delighted to have George join us on the RDAWBB Board as we work together, driven by a common purpose and our commitment to Wide Bay Burnett. Our Board brings together a diverse cross-section of representatives, and together we will continue to champion opportunities that support stronger, more resilient communities.”
“Congratulations also go to Michelle, who has served as a dedicated Jobs Fraser Coast Regional Jobs Committee Chair for several years and as an RDAWBB Board member. Her appointment as Secretary is a testament to her dedication and contribution, which are greatly valued.”
RDAWBB Director, Sotera Trevaskis, said the appointments came at an important time as the organisation began putting its newly adopted Strategic Plan 2026–2030 into action.
“These appointments strengthen our Board as we move forward with our newly adopted Strategic Plan 2026–2030, which will guide our priorities and actions in the years ahead.”
Built around four pillars of People, Places, Services, and Industry and Local Economies, the plan outlines six strategic priorities focused on regional intelligence, advocacy, collaboration, workforce development, emerging industries and investment, and regional storytelling.
“Together, these priorities will guide our work to strengthen partnerships, attract investment and support sustainable growth across Wide Bay Burnett.”
For Mayor George Seymour, joining the Board is an opportunity to contribute to regional collaboration and advocacy while gaining a broader understanding of the needs and priorities of communities across Wide Bay Burnett.
“Having seen firsthand the benefits that collaborative regional planning and advocacy can deliver, I am pleased to join the Board of Regional Development Australia Wide Bay Burnett. The organisation plays a vital role in connecting communities, businesses and government to achieve outcomes that no single organisation can deliver alone.
I look forward to contributing to that shared vision, strengthening regional advocacy and supporting initiatives that deliver meaningful benefits for residents, businesses and communities across the Wide Bay Burnett region.”
RDAWBB is guided by a 14-member Board representing government, industry and community, bringing together diverse experience and expertise to support regional development.
