The program stood tall with an impressive list of working ideas and initiatives recognised as a leading the way at Canberra's Parliament House.
Leaders, regional changemakers and national decision makers, from across Australia converged upon our nation’s capital to showcase a number of impressive, bold and what some may consider life-changing projects transforming regional communities for the inaugural Regional Dialogue Day.
Developed by the Regional Australia Institute (RAI), the landmark event is a catalyst for change in our regions, to amplify the voice of regional Australia in national policymaking, encourage collaboration, and highlight models that could be replicated in other regions, delivering a better future for all Australians.
The unique platform provided regional leaders a stage and receptive audience to present their projects, discuss challenges, and demonstrate solutions in areas such as workforce development, education, technology, infrastructure, and community building to a captive decision-making audience.
Of the 22 projects selected nationwide, from a town transforming rural health care delivery to a regional city’s vision to be the first powered 100 per cent by renewable energy, our very own FCCPP was chosen to feature at this high-profile event. Selected for its practical, community driven approach to helping local students explore career options and connect with employers, the program is guided by the understanding that “everyone’s journey is different” when the conversation turns to what happens after high school.
The program’s inclusion was a resounding affirmation of the impact of locally led initiatives. It shows how targeted support can open doors, inspire boldness and create relevant and real opportunities for young people while addressing workforce needs and firmly placing Fraser Coast on the national stage.
