George was first elected Mayor in 2018, after serving as a Division 10 Councillor from 2012. Before entering local government, he worked as a solicitor and disability support worker and managed the region’s youth homelessness shelter.

George brings valuable local government experience and a strong understanding of the importance of regional collaboration. He is committed to working with government, industry, business and community stakeholders to support economic development, investment and sustainable growth across the Wide Bay Burnett region.
