Would you like to make a difference in your region?
RDA WBB committee members are drawn from business, government and the community, bringing together a variety of views, interests and expertise. Our members have a shared sense of purpose, working to improve the economic prosperity of the Wide Bay Burnett region.
Applications are now open for deputy chair and committee members to lead the organisation until the end of 2020.
Deputy Chair and Committee members
These are volunteer positions which provide input into strategic direction setting, contribute to reviewing progress in achieving objectives and outcomes and oversee the effectiveness of governance processes within the Committee. Like the Chair, they also have a hands on, active role in facilitating economic development opportunities for the region. The Deputy Chair is selected from the pool of applicants to be Committee Members. The Chair appoints the Deputy Chair and Members after agreement is provided from the Minister for Regional Development and state, territory and local government counterparts where appropriate.
Applicants for Chair, Deputy Chair and Committee Member positions will generally be regional leaders with vision, drive and business experience who are able to facilitate economic development opportunities and investment for their regional communities and create jobs and growth.
RDA Chairs, Deputy Chairs and Committee Members are expected to have high standards of conduct and ethics in applying the principles and practices of corporate governance. Appointees to Committees will be required to comply with the requirements of the Funding Agreement with the Department of Infrastructure, Regional Development and Cities (the Department) and the RDA Better Practice Guide, which includes the RDA Code of Conduct and Ethics. Failure to do so may result in removal from the Committee.
